Find your ring size
Sizing is the single reason men hesitate to buy a wedding band online. Here are three ways to get it right, and if you would rather not guess at all, we will post you a sizer for free.
Three ways to measure
Order a free sizer (most accurate)
Add any band to your bag and choose “I'm not sure yet”. We post a plastic ring sizer the same day at no cost. Wear it for an afternoon, tell us the number, and your band ships immediately. The sizer is yours to keep either way.
Measure a ring he already wears
Take a ring that fits the correct finger and measure the inside diameter in millimetres, edge to edge, across the widest point. 17.3 mm is a US 7, 18.1 mm a US 8, 19.0 mm a US 9, 19.8 mm a US 10, 20.6 mm a US 11, 21.4 mm a US 12.
Wrap a strip of paper
Cut a thin strip, wrap it around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps and measure the length in millimetres. That is the circumference: 54.4 mm is a US 7, 57.0 a US 8, 59.5 a US 9, 62.1 a US 10, 64.6 a US 11, 67.2 a US 12.
Two things that catch people out
Our bands are comfort fit, which means the inside edge is domed rather than flat. A comfort-fit band slides over the knuckle more easily and generally runs about a half size larger than a standard band. If you are between two sizes, take the smaller one.
Fingers are not a fixed size. They swell in heat and after exercise, and shrink when cold. Measure at the end of the day, at normal room temperature, when the hand is relaxed, that is closest to the size the ring needs to be most of the time.
Wider bands feel tighter. An 8 mm band sits across more of the finger than a 6 mm one, so if you are ordering 8 mm and measured on a narrow ring, consider going up a half size.
Sizing questions
- What if the size is wrong when it arrives?
- Send it back and we will exchange it for a different size free of charge. Size exchanges are always free, and they do not count against your three Forever Fit replacements.
- Can a tungsten ring be resized?
- No. Tungsten carbide is far too hard to be cut and stretched the way gold or silver is, so nobody can resize it, which is exactly why we exchange the ring instead of altering it.
- How long does the free sizer take to arrive?
- It goes out the same business day and typically arrives within two to four days in the US. Your band then ships the same day you tell us your size.
- Do you have half sizes?
- Yes. Every band is available from US 7 through US 16 in half-size increments.
