The Dune

Twelve hours on shift and I did not think about it once. I had emailed to ask whether the blasted surface would irritate skin under a glove, and they said the inside is polished smooth, which it is. That was the whole answer.

Someone at a dinner in September had the Qalo silicone band and we compared. Mine is a size 11, worn daily for eight months, and the fit has not changed at all, which he could not say about his.

It turned up in a hinged box with the ring set texture-up, which for the money I did not expect. Size 9, close at the base, clears the knuckle fine. Only reservation is that the box is bigger than it needs to be.

My previous band was a 10 and pinched by evening. This is a 10.5 and sits without pressure at the base. The ripple also gives it grip, so it does not spin the way the smooth one did.

About 14 grams, which sits without rolling. Two years in, the ripple still catches under a thumbnail the same way it did on day one, and the troughs have stayed matt rather than polishing to a shine.
